OUR MORAL FIBRES

OUR FABRIC CERTIFICATIONS

WHAT THEY MEAN AND WHY THEY ARE IMPORTANT

Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) - A voluntary standard that addresses the welfare of sheep and the land they graze on. The standard certifies they meet rigorous animal welfare and land management requirements.

Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX - Every component of the item has been tested for harmful substances to ensure it is harmless for human health.

Mulesing free - Sheep do not go through any painful surgical prodecures

NATIVA - The first global wool brand to provide Blockchain traceability from farm to consumer.
This transparency in the supply chain, means brands can truly show the journey of their wool.

Woolmark - This certification verifies that the wool in each certified product meets our exacting quality standards and is what it claims to be.

ZDHC MRSL Compliant - Assurance that banned chemical substances are not used during production and manufacturing processes.

REACH Compliant - Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) addresses the production and use of chemical substances, and their potential impacts on both human health and the environment.

APEO Free - Our items do not contain Alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEO), surfactants commonly used in garments, which harm human health.

Azo-Free - Low impact dyes that do not consist of nitrogen-based compounds

GOTS-certified production - Is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibers. This certification provides credible assurance of responsible manufacturing with the least chemical inputs. Ultimately, it ensures quality organic fabric for end consumers.

FSC® Managed Forests - Trees are harvested responsibly so there is no net loss of forest over time. All workers are provided with proper training, adequate safety protocols, and fair wages. Biodiversity is preserved and local communities living in and around forest areas are consulted, and their legal and cultural rights to land and forest resources are respected.

Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) - A not for profit organisation that works to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in and better for the sector’s future.

VOC-Free - Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are a large group of chemicals that are found in many products. They are a huge health hazard to textile workers through their work environment.

Low Water - Our makers have equipped their mill with a purification plant to preserve and sustainably reuse water.

Low Energy - Our makers have over 17,000 m2 of photovoltaic solar panels and 2 Francis turbines, transforming the energy generated by the waterfalls of the stream that flows next to their factory.
